A month ago Wycombe were in 21st place, still awaiting for a victory. The club faced an injury cirsis which left manager Gareth Ainsworth short of options in the first couple of months. After just four wins in 15 games Wycombe was at the bottom.
Today they have 10 points from four league games behind them making them very condifent and competitive in the league. They have learned the lessons of some heavy defeats in the autumn. They only conceded three league goals at home since August. The 12th of November, the Chairboys defeated Morecambe 2-0 with an outstanding performance. The beginning of a fantastic winning journey for this small club. The Wanderers are also victorious in the FA cup giving Gareth Ainsworth's team a good November record in all competitions with 5th wins in a row.
This good form is the result of all the players and staff hard work at the club but especially three have grabbed the limelight in recent games. Scott Kashket who scored a double against Hartlepool. He is Wycombe's top scorer with six goals. The 20 year-old is capable of attacking on either wing or through the center of the pitch. Paris Cowan-Hall with two goals and one assist. He is able to change direction and dribble easily which makes the play more dynamic. Keeper Jamal Blackman has eight clean sheets for 20 apps. Capable to guide his team mates, Blackman is a very talented goalkeeper.
As if November couldn't be more victorious, Gareth Ainsworth was named Sky Bet League 2 manager of the month. Ainsworth said to Maidenhead Advertiser: « It's brilliant to be named manager of the month. We had four excellent league wins in November. ».
Having risen 13 places in the league, Wycombe seem to end 2016 on a happy note.
The Chairboys hunt a 5th consecutive league win against Notts County.
