Scott Kashket's double extends Wycombe's strong form!

It was a game to remember for the Wanderers with a fourth victory. Kashket's double handed Wycombe all three points at Adams Park. It condemned Hartlepool to their fourth consecutive away defeat. 

The Chairboys produced a brilliant counter-attacking display to make it four wins in a row. Pools coach, Craig Hignett had opted to keep an unchanged starting eleven following their win ove rAccrington Stanley (W 2-0) the week before. Gareth Ainsworth changed four players from the team used against Newport County (W 1-0). Kashket, Akinfenwa, Harriman and Gape were first team players this match.

A good coaching rewarded with Kashket's 23rd minute goal. A strong first half performance from the Chairboys even though Hartlepool was quite dangerous during 15 minutes. James Martin slipped a low cross accross the face of goal. A good attempt from Lewis Alessandra but it was comfortable for Jamal Blackman, Wycombe's keeper.

The hosts took control in the second half. Hartlepool were struggling to create play. Their players tried to lob Blackman on two free-kicks. They knew he is a keeper who plays high off his line. The 23 year-old goalkeeper was focused and knew the danger. Rapid and tall (2m01) he was able to anticipate and not concede any goal.

With 10 minutes remaining, Wycombe killed the game thanks to Kashket once again. A very good clearing shot from Wycombe keeper to the 20 year-old who made it 2-0. Pools keeper, Carson could not do anything. 

The Wanderers were untroubled for much of the game. Keeper Blackman didn't have much to do as he guided very well his defense thanks to his smart sense of the game. Wycombe is now 6th in the league. 

Hartlepool, 18th, will need a winagainst Cambridge United to leave the relegation zone.
